Does Trein-vertraging.nl work with my student public transport card?

Yes, you can simply register with the OV-chipkaart that has your Student Travel Product on it. We automatically claim delay compensation for the journeys you pay for yourself.

Two important things to know:

Free journeys through your Student Travel Product are excluded from “Delay compensation (Money back in case of delays)”. Whether you have weekday or weekend free travel, you do not pay a ticket price for those journeys, so there is no amount to claim back.

For journeys you make outside your student travel period, it does apply. For example, if you travel in the weekend without weekend free, or on weekdays without weekday free, you pay for those trips using your balance. We will automatically process delay claims for those journeys.

So just link your OV-chipkaart in your profile. We can see per trip which ones are eligible for compensation and automatically submit the claims to NS.
