Medior Back-end Developer
Medior Back-end Developer
Fulltime | Amsterdam, NL | On-site
It’s time to cross borders. After a year and a half of building our claim service in the Netherlands, we now help over 120,000 train passengers each month and process more than 700,000 train journeys per month. Now, it’s time to expand across Europe.
While the Netherlands has one of the most punctual rail networks in Europe, the surrounding countries present a huge opportunity. In Germany alone, the train delay claim market is roughly 50 times larger than in the Netherlands.
That’s why we’re looking for someone to help us bring Trein-vertraging.nl to the rest of Europe. It will be an intense, fast-paced rollout: in the first six months, we’ll be launching multiple new country labels.
Can you thrive in a startup environment and want to help build our European expansion from day one? Let’s code!
What you’ll do
Build for new European markets: eligibility checks, automated claim forms, ticket parsing & more.
You’ll take direct ownership of one country rollout: from setup to launch and beyond.
Work closely with Market Analysts who research local rules and processes, and do your own digging, to turn insights into working code.
Keep it lean: ship fast, iterate, improve.
Who you are
Medior Back-end Developer (But whether you have less or more experience, don’t hesitate to reach out!)
Comfortable with PHP, Laravel, databases, APIs, jobs, automation/scraping, browser automation.
Startup mindset: hands-on, iterate quickly, ship over polish.
Nice-to-have: German / France / Spanish native speaker.
What we offer
Salary: €3,400 – €4,000 gross per month (full-time), depending on experience and qualifications.
Contract: Fulltime (32–40 hours).
Location: Amsterdam (on-site). Our office is located in the heart of the city. Easy accessible by public transport.
A impact role: help shape our EU expansion from day one.
A young, ambitious & small team. Currently our team is just 2: Daan (Commercial) & Michael (Tech).
Growth opportunities as we scale into Europe.
